The Commission is launching the idea of making EU-wide 'noise maps' based on common methods and indicators. These maps should be made available to the public. They should form the basis for development of action plans and strategies at local, national and EU levels to combat noise pollution.

  The Noise Pollution Clearinghouse is a national non-profit organization with extensive online noise related resources. The mission of the Noise Pollution Clearinghouse is to create more civil cities and more natural rural and wilderness areas by reducing noise pollution at the source.

7. EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENTAL BUREAU Federation of Environmental Citizens Organization :
  The EEB is a federation of 134 environmental citizens organisations based in all EU Member States and most Accession countries, as well as a few neighbouring countries. They range from local and national to European and international. The aim of the EEB is to protect and improve the environment of Europe and to enable the citizens of Europe to play their part in achieving that goal The EEB office in Brussels was established in 1974 to provide as a focal point for its members to monitor and respond to the emerging EU environmental policy.
