Task Group 2 Final Report: Energy efficiency in buildings ... The objective of this Strategy Paper is to accelerate the installation of appropriate energy efficiency measures in all kinds of existing and new buildings, including specific actions for "common and co-ordinated policies and measures" at community, Member State and industry level. Sustainable construction is one of the declared priorities for the construction sector. In turn, one of the three keys identified for sustainable construction must emerge via improvement of the energy performance of buildings. This must also acknowledge the amount of energy used to construct any building in the first place, and seek to minimise this via good practice.
